The recovery process is supposed to be as comfortable, swift and painless as can be. Of course,, you will be experiencing some discomfort, but this is supposed to die away over time. With the instructions of your surgeon, you need to place a lot of emphasis on aftercare. If there are appointments that you need to make with your surgeon or any other physician for that matter, it is important that you keep these religiously because you have a lot riding on this. For the best possible care, you need to follow all the instructions that you have been given from the day you come out of surgery. You have to eat right, take your medicine and prescription pills accordingly.

Immediately after surgery

If you have just had a successful breast lift and augmentation you are not supposed to be discharged immediately. You will stay under observation for a while before you are given a clean bill of health to leave. During this time, you can also get in touch with the surgeon and talk to them about anything that you would love to know about breast lift with implants or any concerns that you have. It is easier at this point because you could, in fact, discuss with the surgeon what you are actually going through, the pain and anything else that you are feeling.

Recovery after this procedure will depend on a number of factors. The duration of your surgery will be primarily based on the type of surgical procedure that you had been put through, and the ability of your body to heal faster. Generally, people who live a normal healthy life, exercise and eat well will have a faster recovery period their peers who do not follow the same principles in life.

Resuming work

After the breast lift and augmentation, you will be wondering when you can get back to your work when you can start doing things the way you were used to before the operation and stuff like that. As a precaution, you need to take around two weeks off your normal work schedules. This is supposed to cater for the physical challenges that you might have to endure in the course of your normal job, and the activity levels that are associated with the same. After that, you can then get back to work gradually.

There are also women who have been able to get back to work in 2 – 3 days after breast augmentation, but then again, these are special circumstances. Each and every person is different in their own way, and the way their body will respond to the changes that are associated with this procedure. You should not rush the recovery procedure if you want to avoid unnecessary problems with your implants. As you talk to your surgeon, they will also advise you accordingly on the recovery plan that you will be working on. The surgeon will also advise you on the best time for you to get back to work and more importantly the specific activity levels that you can engage in, and at/after a specific duration of time.

Right after the breast lift and augmentation you are advised not to do anything. Just get some rest. In fact, you should not even attempt to drive yourself or operate any machinery, heavy or otherwise. You need to come with someone who will be there with you and drive you back home after the operation. You will be feeling tired and your breasts will be a bit swollen and uncomfortable. This discomfort is bound to interfere with the way you operate, and as a result, you need to have someone taking care of you.

Start feeling much better

The recovery period varies from one patient to the other, but within the first two days of the breast enhancement, you should start feeling better, more comfortable in your new frame. Stay away from strenuous activities for at least 3 – 4 weeks, because your breasts will still be sore through this period.

The swelling should settle after this period, and the discomfort that you have been feeling in your breasts will subside. Remember, in the course of this process, if there is anything that you want to do, and you feel it hurting, or you feel that your body might not be able to handle it, you should avoid it altogether. Consult your surgeon if you are unsure about anything.
